Family-owned by brother and sister Owen and Lauren McCarthy, McCarthy’s Market brings together fresh local produce, meat, dairy, and baked goods, a full coffee bar, and an ice cream shop – all under one roof in the heart of Louisville (across the street from cover feature, Louisville Mercantile).
From a School Bus to a Storefront
Every great community spot starts with an idea worth chasing. For Owen and Lauren, that idea began with a simple mobile farm stand – a way to share with the community the produce they grew right here in East Tennessee. For two years, the siblings took their farm stand on the road, running the mobile market out of a renovated school bus and building relationships with families across Blount County – one stop at a time. Along the way, they discovered something the town of Louisville was missing: a place to shop local products while being together.
A Gathering Place
In August of last year, Owen and Lauren began the plans to bring their vision to fruition, and McCarthy’s Market opened its doors this summer 2026. McCarthy’s Market is proud to call Louisville, a small town in Blount County along Fort Loudoun Lake about 15 miles south of Knoxville, home. Whether you’re stopping in on a Friday night for ice cream with the kids, doing your weekly grocery shopping for local produce, or grabbing a cup of coffee before work, McCarthy’s Market has something for the whole family.
