Why Pickleball is Growing in Knoxville

During the past few years, pickleball has experienced significant growth in Knoxville. Our city has invested in new facilities and programs to meet the rising demand among its residents. Thanks to these efforts, we have seen our pickleball community flourish and expand.

One of the reasons for pickleball’s growth is its appeal to a wide range of age groups and skill levels. The demographic makeup of Knoxville includes a significant portion of retirees, comprising almost 20% of the population, who are drawn to the game’s low-impact nature and social aspect. Additionally, younger players are also being introduced to the sport through local recreation programs, schools, and community centers.
