Amish Elegance

Amish Elegance

By Angie Carroll, Owner of Amish Elegance

It is with sincere appreciation to all of our customers that we announce an exciting new phase in our business, Amish Elegance (formerly Amish Excellence). We opened our 1,900 square foot showroom on April 1, 2016, with a great deal of enthusiasm and the knowledge that during the course of time, our understanding of the Amish furniture marketplace would be enhanced.

On our one year anniversary, we expanded our retail showroom to 4,200 square feet. This new space allowed us to display many new lines of Amish furnishings, resulting in us being recognized as the Number One Furniture Store in Farragut in 2017, Favorite Furniture Store in Knoxville in 2018, and Favorite Interior Design in Knoxville in 2018. We thank you for your continued support and encouragement and remain committed to providing you with the highest quality furniture, exceptional customer service, and friendly hometown hospitality.

On March 1, we will become Amish Elegance | Fine Custom Furniture, with a renewed focus on offering our customers an expanded selection of fine custom furniture and design services for home and office. We will also be introducing our Customer Loyalty Program that provides customers with previews of new additions to our offerings, upcoming sales, customer appreciation events, and special pricing for repeat customers and referrals.

Also, mark your calendars for Friday, March 29, to visit Amish Elegance during a live broadcast with talk radio personality, Hallerin Hilton Hill, from 3 to 7 pm. Enjoy refreshments and special pricing on custom orders and showroom inventory during our Grand Re-Opening on March 29 and 30.

We are also excited to introduce our new website on March 1, featuring all of our product catalogs and photographs of custom furniture hand-crafted by our Amish craftsmen. During the year, you will also have the opportunity to meet many of Amish craftsmen during special events at our showroom. Also, in the coming weeks, we will be introducing an expanded line of upholstered pieces, including sofas, chairs, and recliners in leather and performance fabrics, as well an expanded selection of special order and in-stock lamps, mirrors, clocks, and other home décor.

At Amish Elegance, we will continue our tradition of offering only the finest, solid American hardwood, custom hand-crafted Amish furniture and home décor items. No veneers, laminates, or imports. We invite you to discover the exciting world of quality, hand-crafted Amish furniture at the all-new Amish Elegance.

What Does Your Gift Say?

What do our gifts say about us? We want them to say we are thoughtful, but are we always hitting the mark? For some of us, it requires thinking outside the box!

Hostess Gifts

If you are traveling out of the region, you might want to consider taking something from your home area like food or locally crafted goods such as pottery or woodwork. Other thoughtful ideas are things people can use every day, like napkins (with or without the napkin holder) or notecards from a local artist.

Wedding Gifts

Do you always buy off of a registry? Young people always need a lot of things, as most are setting up households for the first time. Think about a distinctive piece of pottery or a hand-turned serving bowl – a luxury that someone would likely not buy for themselves. Though gift cards are not considered by some to be thoughtful, sometimes gift certificates are the perfect gift. It is hard to buy art for someone else, so a gift certificate to a shop with art may be the perfect choice. This allows the new couple to buy that perfect piece to make their house a home.

Birthday Gifts

What does your friend love? From that special friend to the “thinking of you” gift, try to pick something that will make them smile each and every time they see it. Is it a floral arrangement, hand-crafted jewelry, a trinket for a shelf or table (think birds and bunnies!), or a garden stake or statuary?

At The Town Framery & Gifts, we are here to help you find that special gift for that special person in your life.

Sweetwater Main Street Opens New Doors!

The year 2018 is looking to be a banner year in historic downtown Sweetwater.  In the past few months, Sweetwater’s nationally accredited Main Street district has helped four new businesses open.  Building entrepreneurs is an important goal for the Sweetwater Main Street organization.  In partnership with the City of Sweetwater and funded in part with a grant through the State of TN Economic and Community Development, a formerly vacant building in downtown Sweetwater is being transformed into a business incubator.  The beautiful historic building, once known as the Carter Brick Mason Building, is owned by Sweetwater Architect Sam Moser.  His vision for the building has created space for a restaurant, coffee shop and bakery, a retail store, and several residential apartments in the future, as well as the relocation of his own architectural office.

Last fall the first business, Her Majesty Boutique, opened to much fanfare.  It hasn’t been unusual to see a line out the door of this trendy second floor boutique.  Clothing and apparel, jewelry, accessories, and more, as well as a new children’s line, Reign Couture, have drawn many new shoppers to downtown Sweetwater.  The shop is owned by Ashley Ingram, Miss Tennessee United States 2017.

“It’s a very good thing to have young, smart entrepreneurs in Sweetwater,” said Mayor Doyle Lowe. “We’re so glad to play a part in these businesses success.”

In January, Vittorino’s Italian Cucina Restaurant opened and has stayed busy even through the traditionally slow months of January and February.  The cuisine is fresh and made with love by owner Rosa.  The venue is beautiful and cozy.  Open Tuesday through Sunday, a meal in Vittorino’s Italian Cucina Restaurant is well worth the trip to Sweetwater.

March 1st welcomed the Cup Runneth Over Coffeehouse and Sweet Station Bake Shop.  The Coffehouse serves Crimson Cup coffee, as well as a variety of hot teas, espressos, cappuccinos, and more.  Paired with a treat or breakfast item from the Bake Shop, and this stop is a must when visiting Sweetwater.  The eclectic interior spotlights the original brick walls and locally made countertops, tables, and chairs.  A space was created for live entertainment, and the back section of the building has a meeting room available for parties and gatherings.

Several years ago the Sweetwater Main Street organization hired a consultant for a master plan as part of a grant through the East TN Foundation.  The process of creating the master plan identified several goals for downtown Sweetwater.  Some of those goals included a restaurant serving pizza that more locals would support, businesses that stayed open past 5 pm, and a coffee shop.

“These new ventures are a clear fulfillment of several long-term goals, and it’s exciting to watch,” said Jane McGuire, Sweetwater Main Street Director. “We are so proud to play a part of this process.”

Sweetwater is home to so many unique shopping experiences and dining options.  These new businesses will help continue to draw visitors and locals alike and enhance what is already a great day trip.  So make plans to visit Sweetwater soon!
