Snooty Patootie

By Kay McGinnis, Owner of Snooty Patootie

Snooty PatootieSo just what is Snooty Patootie? If I had to define it, I’d say it was a unique experience that encompasses a collection of vintage, repurposed, and new home furnishings with a warm French Country appeal. But it is the story behind Snooty Patootie that really defines just who we are and our passion for home décor and interior design.

A Knoxville area native and mother of two young adults now attending UT, I embraced a career in corporate America as so many working spouses do today. But after nearly two decades as a procurement professional in the nuclear industry, I decided that it was time for me to pursue my life’s passion. So in 2007, I left my corporate career in pursuit of a less stressful lifestyle, more time with my family, and the opportunity to pursue my décor and design passion.

Snooty Patootie was first launched out of my garage in 2010. I first began by hand-selecting vintage home furnishings from across Europe and the U.S. Our initial success resulted in relocating to a retail booth in Farragut before securing our very own retail space in historic downtown Lenoir City in 2014.

With the surprising success of the business, my sister and best friend, Darlina Brookbank, decided to add her unique interior design talents, allowing us to significantly expand the services offered by Snooty Patootie. Then, in 2015, we relocated to the heart of the Farragut shopping district by opening our new retail shop featuring spectacular European architectural finds, including vintage doors, iron gates, and stained glass, in addition to furniture, lighting, accessories, candles, jewelry, and gifts. There simply is no other store in the area like Snooty Patootie.

By combining our large selection of vintage, antique, and new home décor items from Europe and North America with our passion for unique interior design skills, we’re confident that you will have discovered the opportunity to create that showcase quality look for your home that you have been in search of. Having just completed a full redesign project in Turks and Caicos, I would like to personally invite you to visit us at Snooty Patootie to experience the inspiration that awaits you for your next redesign project, no matter how large or small.
